Position Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

PIMCO is seeking to hire an experienced Institutional DC Specialist Account Manager to further develop U.S. institutional distribution within PIMCO's $125B Defined Contribution business. This position is responsible for working in conjunction with PIMCO client facing and consultant relations account managers in developing DC business with existing and prospective plan sponsors and consultants.

The position will report to PIMCO's Global Head of Consultant Relations, OCIO, and Specialists. The role can be based in either New York, NY or Newport Beach, CA and requires significant travel.

This position requires an experienced, dynamic & collaborative professional. A successful candidate will:
• Have a commercial orientation, highly developed consultative sales skills and a history of successfully selling into DC plans and engaging with plan sponsors and consultants.
• Have a proven track record of developing and monetizing strong relationships with institutional DC plan sponsors including corporate, public, non-profit and insurance companies.
• Possess tenured experience in the industry and depth of existing relationships across the plan sponsor and consultant community
• Have outstanding knowledge of the institutional and advisor led DC landscape including investor requirements and preferences as well as intermediary distribution
• Deep knowledge of DC trends, plan design and mechanics (accumulation and decumulation), investment vehicles, competitors, capital markets, and economics
• Demonstrate the ability to work in partnership with and earn the trust and credibility of fellow Account Managers, Portfolio Managers, Product Strategists and other PIMCO professionals
• Provide thought leadership in identifying marketing opportunities and supporting PIMCO initiatives to develop and grow PIMCO's DC platform

Position Requirements:

RESPONSIBILITIES

The DC Specialist Account Manager will:

• Develop and execute client and consultant level business plans in conjunction with Client Facing and Consultant Relations Account Managers to drive AUM and revenue growth, consultant ratings upgrades and generally expand penetration in DC across channels.
• Work with plan sponsors and consultants to assess DC investment needs and recommend solutions. Deliver DC expertise and communicate PIMCO's perspectives on DC plan design while positioning PIMCO investment solutions appropriate for plan sponsors and participants.
• Offer timely and forward-looking insights both internally and externally on investor demand, competitors and DC market trends.
• Identify market opportunities and contribute to the development of new products and strategies related to such opportunities, resulting in PIMCO continuing to deliver innovative solutions to clients, particularly in the area of retirement income.
• Contribute to efforts to promote PIMCO's DC capabilities and develop brand awareness within the industry through conferences and external speaking engagements.
