Position Description:

Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) seeks a VP, Software Engineering Lead for its Austin, TX location. Job ID 32578

Duties: Identify the core functionality required from PIMCO's software programs, including the level of security and performance needs; analyze users' needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints; confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, project managers, and others within PIMCO Technology to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces; and then design, test, develop, and enhance software solutions to meet those needs. Recommend software upgrades as appropriate for existing programs and systems, and will collaborate within the Technology division to create optimum software. Design applications and software solutions and ensure through software maintenance and testing that the solutions function normally and work seamlessly in conjunction with each other to achieve their objectives. Document the code and integral aspects of the applications and systems he works with to facilitate future maintenance and upgrades. Collaborate with production support & operational teams as well as working with external vendor technology teams to produce customer-centric Product Development, establishing a roadmap for product and solution design for business features, as well as managing the related risk. Design and develop the delivery of high quality solutions. Collaborate with Core Engineering Groups to deliver strategically aligned outcomes.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the position offered or related position. Required experience must include: Scripting in C++, Python, and KDB. Actively managing, developing and testing the TCS system (Tick and Computation Service) and EPS (Enriched Price Server) across multiple trading desks. Using financial software systems including Order Management System, Portfolio Accounting System, Investment Analytics System, and Market Data System. .NET and SQL. Interfacing with business partners (trading, portfolio management, and back office people).
