Investment Services Public Markets

Investment Services Public Markets (ISPM) is an integrated team that provides investment service support for public market investment activities strategically and tactically. The team is responsible for business management functions for all public market investment strategy groups, as well as GIC's global trade operations, custody control and asset servicing such as income entitlements, mergers and acquisitions and other corporate events of our underlying investments, futures and derivative operations, collateral management, pricing and rates, market data and rebalancing operations. The coverage extends across a spectrum of products such as equities, bonds, money market, foreign exchange, futures, collateralized securities and other derivatives.

Data Solutions & Services

DSS is the partner of choice for all investment data related activities in GIC; the department comprises business data operations, business data services and analytics, asset valuation & analytics, investment book of record and investment data services & analytics. Within the DSS division, the investment book of record team (IBOR) is responsible for design and leading of strategic data solutions build-out to support our public markets investment capabilities. The team is also responsible for researching & the management of the implementation of IBOR related data services for all investment strategies & new product lines, leveraging a range of expertise and through the establishment of strategic partnerships across the firm and in the market, to embed and foster best practices in operating and service models.

We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated and technically competent individual with an interest in investment transaction, position, valuation and exposure data services to join us as an Assistant Vice President. The individual will be part of a team to provide business-focused investment data services to enable sharper investment execution.

Responsibilities

• Data management oversight / analysis to provide timely, complete and consistent golden copy of investment transaction, position, valuation and exposure data services across all asset classes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and resolve data quality issues and enquiries proactively
• Work with investment teams and risk & performance teams to evaluate new business requirements, propose solutions, implement and test data services
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and leverage a range of end user computing tools for continuous process and efficiency improvements

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, Business/Finance, Statistics, Operations Research, etc.
• Certifications such as CFA or CIPM is a plus
• At least 3-5 years of working experience in funds management, banking industry or large-scale data operations field
• Strong experience in one or more of these areas: Data Analytics, Visualization, Acquisition, Creation, Cleansing and Quality Assurance
• Working knowledge of financial instruments, markets and valuation methods
• Preferred to have prior working experience in IBOR domain
• Driven to capitalize on opportunities to leverage market utilities, services and technologies to advance departmental capabilities
