Position Description:

The Consultant Relations Associate will join the Consultant Relations Group (CRG) to support Institutional Consultant servicing and sales, ensuring service be met at the highest level. The Associate's primary responsibility is to respond to information requests from consultants, working alongside account managers as part of a relationship coverage team. The Associate acts as an internal and external resource, responding to inquiries on PIMCO's investment products and capabilities. Other responsibilities include meeting preparation, briefing memos, pipeline management, presentation materials, spearheading the funding of new accounts, working with groups across PIMCO in response to complex consultant questions, and special projects. The successful Associate will be entrepreneurial and proactive about problem solving.

COMPETENCIES AND CRTICAL SKILLS:
This position requires an analytical, sales oriented professional who can:

  • Establish an understanding of the needs of our consultants and regularly provide relevant market insight, product information, investment ideas and sales support;
  • Be capable of substantial consultant interaction - phone, e-mail, attending in-house meetings, - to give consultants PIMCO touches and urgently turn-around requests when the CRG Account Manager is out of the office;
  • Learn focus products and help the search process by interacting with Product Strategy, Compliance, Legal, Risk Management, Channel Account Managers, and many other teams;
  • Make a difference on the team by participating in team meetings, engaging colleagues across different PIMCO functions, participating and leading working groups, sharing best practices, fully leveraging continuous coaching and training, etc.
  • Enhance efficiencies and share information amongst the other Institutional channel Associates and AMs to establish best practices across channels.


OTHER:
  • Efficiently utilize tools such as Excel spreadsheets, macros, query tools, CRM, proprietary attribution and performance systems, and external databases
  • Have a strong client service mind-set and exhibit a strong sense of urgency when responding to internal and external requests.
  • Have a fundamental understanding of investment strategies combined with a strong desire to learn more.
  • Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Utilize effective time management skills to maintain a commitment to quality and attention to detail; ensure that all work is completed accurately and on time

Position Requirements:

EDUCATION:
Must possess a four-year college degree with a preferred major in Business/Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Accounting. Progress toward the CFA designation is a plus.

EXPERIENCE:
At least two years of finance-related experience preferred, ideally in the fixed income, equity or alternatives markets. Ideal candidates are familiar with fixed income instruments and the economic underpinnings of the fixed income asset class. Inside sales experience a plus. Candidate must pass Series 3, 7 and 66 license tests.
