The Team:
The Global Infrastructure Practice was established by S&P Global to expand our ratings franchise in an area of strong growth and to leverage our significant global infrastructure expertise across the full range of infrastructure asset classes. Analytical team members reside in 16 locations globally and work on a diverse range of transactions globally applying different ratings criteria, predominantly project finance and public-private partnerships or P3s. We also work on transactions in partnership with other practices on a regular basis. Effective teamwork and a thoughtful approach to problem solving are highly valued.

The successful applicant will enhance our ability to efficiently and effectively serve our clients by demonstrating outstanding analytical excellence and the capacity to provide relevant, insightful, and compelling analysis. You will analyze original, often bespoke, and complex situations in a timely, orderly, and insightful manner. Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of industry trends and issues is important.

Responsibilities:
Manage a broad portfolio of diverse project finance infrastructure credits focused on power, toll roads, social accommodation, and transport projects, ensuring a consistently high level of analytic quality; act as Primary Analyst on a selected number of high-profile credits
  • Review, critique, and provide analytic feedback on analysis and publishing performed by junior analysts
  • Maintain relationships with the issuers in your assigned portfolio
  • Support and in cases lead new rating assignments under often significant time pressure
  • Audit and create financial forecast, modeling projections and what if scenarios
  • Create and leverage effective internal partnerships, especially with other senior analysts in the Global Infrastructure Practice focused on P3 and project finance coverage
  • Help develop and communicate S&P Global Ratings thought leadership and credit themes via publications, speeches, conference presentations, and media interviews
  • Work with more junior team members to provide analytical training and coaching
  • Credibly champion S&P Global Ratings analytic views
Qualifications:
  • At least 5+ years of experience within a large commercial bank, insurance company, insurance broker, investment bank, investing institution or an audit company working in the field of credit /financial analysis. Experience in project finance desired
  • Have strong analytical skills with comfort doing modeling and quantitative analysis and ability to review of financial statements and understand basic accounting concepts
  • The ability and the desire to learn to conduct his/her own analysis and research
  • The ability to work in a collaborative work environment is required
  • MBA or advanced degree within Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or Mathematics (a quantitative background is strongly preferred).
  • CFA, ASA or FSA accreditation a plus.
  • Be willing to travel, sometimes with short notice
  • Be computer literate having strong Excel/Word/PowerPoint and database application skills. Ability to prepare forecasts based upon reasoned assumptions will be required.
  • Possess solid communication skills, verbal and written, as well as the capacity to expand learn and to make a contribution
  • Successful candidates must have permission to work in the U.S.
Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $82,600 to $230,200 . Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus/a sales commission plan.
