Disciplined Growth Investors, Inc., (DGI) is an Investment Adviser registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. Its principal office and place of business is located at 150 South Fifth Street, Suite 2550, Minneapolis, MN 55402. DGI was founded in February 1997. Position: Director of Institutional Relationships
Reports to: Lead Portfolio Manager
Location: Minneapolis, MN

1. Purpose of Position

This position is responsible for leading the firm’s efforts on institutional and high net worth separately managed client relationships. Candidate will be responsible for client education and retention with a goal of developing long‐term strategic partnerships. A successful candidate will be an individual with strong strategic prospecting and business development skills. The candidate must be comfortable working as a member of a small, high performing team focusing on small/mid cap stocks held for long periods. In addition, the candidate must be highly aligned with firm’s principles and values and be an external face of the DGI brand. This is not an investment decision making position.

2. Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Director of Client Service and Portfolio Manager(s) to:
    • Manage the pace and intensity of client interactions
    • Shape client communication, education and content strategy
  • Communicate nuanced understanding of portfolio philosophy, process and DGI value proposition
  • Build a network to identify DGI‐type institutional and high net worth prospects
  • Maintain strategic consultant relationships and data including ADV, performance databases, annual/quarterly questionnaires and ad‐hoc requests
  • Provide periodic analytical support for investment team
  • Be a cultural ambassador for the firm
