Your team responsibilities
The MSCI Global Client Service team is composed of experienced financial professionals that provide first tier support for our institutional clients around the world. Team members are responsible for responding to a wide variety of methodology, usage, interpretational, and technical questions on our line of products and services. Client contact is primarily via telephone and email, but occasional travel may be required for on-site presentations or trainings. The team members work closely with account managers and consultants to develop and maintain client relationships.

Currently, Client Service teams are present in the following locations: San Francisco, New York, Monterrey, Toronto, London, Budapest, Mumbai, Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo and Manila.

Your key responsibilities

The successful candidate will be part of the APAC Client Service team based in Manila catering to the inquiries raised by MSCI global clients in the field of finance and investment during APAC hours. Said candidate will provide support to clients in their use of MSCI's portfolio and risk management analytics application tools, BarraOne, BPM or RiskManager. His/Her responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Learn and understand our application tool's user account maintenance and functionalities
  • Learn and understand the various market and financial portfolio and risk management concepts used in our application tools
  • Assist the team with day-to-day query allocation and satisfactory resolution of operational, data and intermediate analytics client queries using combined knowledge of BarraOne/BPM/Risk Manager, financial quantitative tools, market and financial risk methodologies and other risk management concepts
  • Participate in developing client relationships through proactive follow up on issues raised by clients
  • Maintain relationships by ensuring relevant product information is shared with clients
  • Provide client feedback to the Coverage, Product Management, Research, and Production groups
  • Keep up with current events and trends in the market place

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Strong analytic, quantitative, and problem-solving skills and has interest in the financial investment process and familiar with international financial institutions and global financial markets
  • A self-starter who is highly motivated, has the ability to work individually and within a team, and has strong organizational skills having the ability to handle multiple projects under tight and short-term deadline
  • Ability to comprehend, simplify and communicate complex concepts or methodologies verbally and in writing via the English language to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work efficiently with diverse cultures on a global team, and knowing when to involve appropriate colleagues in projects regardless of function, geography, and business line
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Undergraduate Degrees in math, statistics or mathematical finance is a must; Undergraduate Degrees in engineering, computer science and IT-related courses with a sound understanding of finance will be considered. Master's Degree in Financial Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Computational Finance, Business Administration or equivalent is highly desired. Either completed or studying a Finance related professional qualification e.g. CFA, FRM is highly desired.
  • 1-3 years relevant experience in a global environment with an undergraduate degree or no working experience but with masters degree in the courses mentioned above is a plus
  • Experience in client facing servicing capacity (via email and phone) is a plus.
  • Past experience in serving external financial institutional clients is a plus.
