Job Description
  • As a lead analyst, analyse and review all quantitative, structural, legal, and credit aspects of securitisation transactions both in a primary and surveillance capacity
  • Analyse asset pools, assess transaction structures and quantitatively model cash flows using ARC's methodologies and models/tools to formulate independent credit opinions and make recommendations to a rating committee. The analysis will also include reviewing legal documents and third party reports
  • Independently present at rating committees and other internal credit discussions and demonstrate sound credit judgment and strong knowledge of ARC's methodologies
  • Preparation of committee papers on new or existing Structured Finance ratings
  • Communication of the results of such committees to external parties
  • Assume responsibility for rating Structured Finance transactions, this entailing;
  • Managing a portfolio of transactions
  • Take the lead role on analysis of transactions of more familiar asset classes while upskilling other analysts
  • Performing the 1st review of analysis of transactions outside of the candidate's portfolio, specific to assets classes in which the candidate has experience
  • Compile/utilise loss models and cash flow models related to structured finance transactions
  • Participation in, and ideally initiate, ad-hoc high quality sector commentaries and topical research, transactions and performance trends
  • Ability to provide input to rating methodologies
  • Interaction with structured finance counterparties such as issuers, investors and bankers
  • Compilation and maintenance of a peer comparison database as well as some involvement with analysis of corporate ratings
  • Interact and build relationships with issuers, arrangers, servicers and trustees
  • Conduct originator and servicer reviews as well as investor outreach meetings
  • Contribute to maintenance and improvement of ARC's rating methodologies and processes

Qualifications
  • Strong academic record
  • Academic degree (BSc or equivalent) in finance, law, real estate, economics, statistics or related quantitative field
  • CFA/CQF advantageous
  • Strong quantitative aptitude, proven analytical skills and logical analytical thought process; strong attention to detail

Essential
  • Significant and demonstrable experience in handling customer relationships under stress. Able to own and execute the rating process with minimal supervision only
  • Good understanding of investment, financial and fixed income markets
  • Proven analytical skills evidenced by experience in an analytical or similar role
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Previous Structured Finance experience, essential (3-5 years minimum)
  • Extensive analytical expertise in structured finance in varying asset classes namely ABS, CLOs, Trade Finance etc and cash flow modelling; sound understanding of rating agency methodologies and processes would be desirable
  • Strong credit, financial modelling skills -
  • High level of ability with Excel
  • High level of familiarity with legal documentation and structures
  • Strong understanding of accounting issues affecting varying asset classes
  • Solid understanding of industry, regulatory and economic aspects affecting structured finance
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English
  • With the ability to deliver clear and concise analysis to both internal and external parties
  • Spoken and written proficiency in Spanish/Italian or French highly advantageous (this at a legal documentation reading level)
  • Ability to handle own portfolio of projects, with a lower degree of direct supervision, whilst simultaneously guiding more junior analysts
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with issuers, investors, bankers, journalists and other market professionals
  • Ability to travel across EMEA/UK on a regular basis as required
  • Sound judgment and highest ethical standards; capable of developing independent opinions and defending own views
  • Proactive, flexible, diligent and dependable
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and independently
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
