This role sits within  Laurentian Bank Securities a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.

The position is based in Toronto or Montreal.

ROLE

As a Vice President in the Technology Investment Banking team, you will utilize your industry expertise, experience and interpersonal skills to effectively deliver high-quality analysis and proposals to our clients.  You will work with a team of experienced professionals to generate ideas, advise clients, build relationships and execute on transactions.

QUALIFICATIONS

º    A minimum of 3-4 years of work experience in investment banking or corporate finance;
º    Completion of an undergraduate degree in finance or accounting, MSc Finance and/or MBA/CFA;
º    Technology sector experience and/or exposure to technology transactions would be considered an important asset;
º    High professional standards including a strong sense of personal integrity and teamwork;
º    Have a combination of strong research, analytical and quantitative skills combined with a strong aptitude for financial analysis and modelling;
º    Organized, strong attention to details, self-motivated and have the ability to meet tight deadlines;
º    Clearly defined interest in Investment Banking broadly and in the Technology sector specifically;
º    Superior presentation skills in addition to strong written and verbal communication skills; and
º    Ability to work independently while fostering a team spirit with colleagues

RESPONSIBILITIES

º    Participate in the execution of investment banking assignments including equity and debt offerings and mergers and acquisitions;
º    Coordinate closely with other members of the Technology Investment Banking team to prepare financial analysis, financial models and marketing material;
º    Share experience, knowledge and ideas to enhance client dialogue and team performance;
º    Research, collect, analyze and interpret clients' financial situations, industry, competitors and market data as well as mergers and acquisition opportunities;
º    Perform technical and financial due diligence of companies including assessment of operations, development plans, capital and operating costs, key risks and upside potential;
º    Develop and maintain proprietary databases including public and private M&A candidates as well as historical comparable transactions and valuation tools on an ongoing basis;
º    Prepare external client proposals and internal underwriting memos;
º    Actively participate on deal teams to ensure that transactions are completed both in a timely and effective manner; and
º    Collaborate with the team on the ongoing development of a successful Technology Investment Banking franchise.
