The Role Responsibilities

Strategy

  • To uphold the integrity of risk/return decisions, and in particular for ensuring that risks are properly assessed, that risk/return decisions are made transparently on the basis of this proper assessment, and are controlled in accordance with the Group's standards and its Risk Appetite for FM businesses in Greater China
  • To ensure the Risk Management Framework is effectively communicated and implemented across the Traded Products within Financial Markets and for administering related governance and reporting, and improvement of Group Policies and Processes
  • To exercise direct Risk Control and Monitoring Ownership for Traded Risk Management (Counterparty Credit Risk) across FM businesses in Greater China.
Business

  • Engage stakeholders (e.g. FM Business stakeholders) to raise awareness of Financial Markets or product-specific risks and how these are managed by TRM CCR Function.
Processes

  • Ensure effective management of operational risks within the Function and compliance with applicable internal policies, external laws and regulations.
  • Strive to improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the Function.
  • Drive a consistent interpretation and application of TRM CCR policies across all countries in GCNA
People and Talent

  • Uphold and reinforce the independence of Traded Risk Management function from the front line.
  • Set out achievable goals and objectives to deliver within the year
  • Take initiative to enhance FM knowledge as well as personal development by attending trainings.
Risk Management
Risk Governance
  • Assist CCR Head GCNA and TRM Head GCNA or directly contribute to the various Risk Forum and risk-related Committees by providing updates on relevant risk topics, regulatory developments or changes in policies and processes.
  • Design, maintain and effectively communicate risk control parameters across FM, including policies, control standards and other control levers to maintain FM's risk profile in with the Group's risk appetite.
  • Ensure enterprise stress testing is performed in line with regulatory requirement. Liaise with CCR Model team for the product coverage of stress test and Credit Risk project team to run the enterprise stress testing. Validate and document the stress test result and the methodology.
  • Ensure risk identification, measurement, reporting, and modelling capabilities are objective, consistent, and compliant with applicable regulations.
  • Keep abreast with the latest development impacting the Financial Market business from a risk and capital perspective.
General Management of TRM, Greater China
  • Approve and provide recommendation on structured Financial Markets transactions
  • Support Financial Markets' business initiatives by providing thorough and timely inputs into Product Programs and Country Addendums.
  • Provide early warning and identify deteriorating credits in the FM portfolios.
  • No adverse remarks related to TRM in Audits.
  • Manage and develop risk capabilities, skills and infrastructure to meet ongoing business needs and plans.
  • Ensure effective management of operational risks within TRM and compliance with applicable internal policies and external laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with Local Laws and Regulations that the Risk Function have Risk Control ownership, as defined in the Operational Risk Framework

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 6-7 years risk management experience
  • CFA or FRM qualification
  • Good understanding on FM products and CCR risk methodology
  • Proficiency in English. Mandarin/ written Chinese is a plus
  • Team player with good communication skills and quick learner
