Job Description:

The Client Portfolio Manager (CPM) and Trade Specialist will provide oversight and implement all trade related operational and administrative functions.  The preferred candidate will develop as the Primary Trader for VIP.  Additionally, they will be responsible for working with VIP Client Advisors to oversee the implementation of investment requirements including rebalancing, tax-loss harvesting, cash management, etc. This is a dynamic and multi-dimensional role that is viewed as an extreme value-add to the VIP Team, supporting many key functions within the organization.  They will work with both the Wealth Management team and Asset Management team at VIP, reporting to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO).  While the position is considered a junior role, it provides an excellent opportunity to learn and grow in the firm with increasing responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage and execute trades through VIP’s trade management platform
  • Serve as the trade aggregator for VIP Client Advisors
  • Review and execute on monthly client review and strategy rebalancing
  • Responsible for pre- and post-trade compliance
  • Compliance support as need
  • Trade Error filing
  • Best execution report
  • 13F filing
  • Portfolio management support with account management responsibilities within VIP’s asset management team
  • Managing and implementing capital gains budgets
  • Reviewing and monitoring restricted account positions
  • Support Investment Team through data analytics and research support
  • Assist with new account on-boarding into various systems
  • Support operational projects and mandates related to process improvement
  • Systems management in Align, Junxure, RedBlack, Bloomberg and Orion
  • Assist with preparation/update of marketing materials and compliance reporting

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience preferably in a RIA, Broker-Dealer, or bank setting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi‐task and manage time effectively
  • Self‐motivated, confident, detail‐oriented, and analytical
  • Willingness to take on additional operational responsibilities as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (preferred)
  • Financial accounting experience
  • Trading and investment knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Orion & Orion eclipse (preferred) or other portfolio accounting / trade management platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as experience with financial planning, client relationship management (CRM) and portfolio management (PM) software
  • Working knowledge of FactSet & Bloomberg
