You will be participating in listed or unlisted infrastructure funds and co‐investments and you will be participating in all aspects of investment evaluations and follows up on investments through the monitoring of results, and preparation and presentation of performance reports on assigned investments.

You will assess and execute on pipeline opportunities.

Assist in screening of new investments considering all relevant macro and industry trends in accordance with the Department's investment mandate.

Carriy out regular research and information gathering to ascertain and build up data on potential investments and activities.

Review and analyse investment information and financial briefs as well as financial and investment periodicals. Utilize a network of industry contacts to obtain relevant information on potential investment opportunities.

Evaluate new investments which includes receiving and reviewing offers for participation in new co-investment opportunities evaluating various aspects of a particular investment, calculating projected financial ratios and testing expected rates of return.

Use financial models to simulate, sensitise and test financial projections and maintains project files with all relevant information. Assess the climate of the sector and country of the potential investment, review information from respected sources and obtains any required additional information.

Establish and maintain relationships with GPs, advisors and industry contacts.

Evaluate the performance of existing investments and seeks to improve value through the consideration of strategic initiatives.

Participate in active portfolio management, including attending Board meetings.

Benchmark investment opportunities against relevant peers and comparable companies/precedent transactions.

Carry out due diligence to identify the critical factors that impact upon an investment. This includes demonstrating sound understanding of relevant operational and financial practices. Liaising with other Council Units such as Strategy, Risk and Legal in order to identify, mitigate and resolve potential investment issues.

Prepare investment committee recommendations on an accurate and timely basis as well as internal monitoring documents such as company updates, company dashboards and meeting notes for the team and the investment committee.

Maintain and update records for all activities in the assigned countries, sectors and companies. Request information from various sources and provide research findings to other personnel within the firm.

IMPORTANT:

You will have a University Degree from a Global leading University

MBA or other advanced financial qualification is desirable such as ACA, CFA.

Experience

• Approx. 5-8 years of relevant work experience: 2-3 years in Investment Banking or Project Finance followed by 3-5 years at a reputable investment firm in a buy-side role primarily covering the unlisted Infrastructure sector (such as Energy, Transportation or Telecoms)
