Job Description


Reporting to the Director, Risk, Portfolio and Modelling, you will help achieve the RMDR's business objectives by improving the quality of risk metrics produced, by developing portfolio analyses and by taking part in the evolution of methodologies used to calculate the metrics.

Your technical and financial skills, sense of initiative and ability to build trusting relationships with colleagues will be key to your success in actively contributing to increasing the team's ability to influence.

Main responsibilities and skills

The Risk, Portfolio and Modelling, team works in a stimulating, collaborative and matrix-based environment. Depending on your profile and strengths, you could work on the following challenges:
  • You will leverage your rigour and analytical, financial and technical skills to validate data and to challenge and efficiently evolve the team's tools, metrics and practices.
  • Through the quality of your analyses and interest in financial markets, you will enhance portfolio risk monitoring.
  • Through your quantitative knowledge and creativity, you will contribute to the methodological evolution of existing calculations (market VaR, credit VaR, etc.) and the development of new approaches in modelling financial risk (use of risk factors, consideration of fundamental aspects of companies and markets, etc.).
  • Through your teamwork, you will collaborate with all the teams in the group on cross-functional initiatives aiming to influence decisions and ensure a balance in an adequate risk-return profile.

Profile sought
  • At least two (2) years of experience (including internships), ideally in risk management or investment
  • Graduate degree in finance, financial engineering or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • A good understanding of cash and derivative financial product valuation
  • Comfortable with software used in finance (Matlab, ExcelVBA, Bloomberg, SQL, etc.)
  • Very good oral and written communication ability in French and English
  • CFA designation would be an asset
