The role purpose and key responsibilities:
Investment Analyst/ Senior Investment Analyst role based in Melbourne, Australia
The Investment Analyst/Senior Analyst works with the Investment Team on performance analysis & reporting, supports investment decision making, and contributes to investment manager coverage and investment operations. The role is also involved with working with internal stakeholders to deliver firmwide outcomes. Specifically, responsibilities include:
Own and deliver all aspects of performance reporting including commentary of key drivers. Support and deliver relevant reporting for external stakeholders. Analyse and interpret key performance drivers of the portfolio and attribute against strategic asset allocation, and against peer groups. Outcomes are focused on improving investment decision-making by the team. Ownership of the performance reporting ecosystem including key inputs, and also the implications of outputs on stakeholders. Deliver/support the development of quantitative solutions according to the needs of the investment team. Provide analytical/quantitative insights for investment decision making. Contribute to coverage of existing investment managers, and due diligence on new investments. Provide support to the production of Investment Committee and Board papers. Work with legalsuper’s other business units to execute cross-functional deliverables. Ability and willingness to develop into a senior investment role.

Relevant undergraduate degree. Progressed or completed investment related post graduate qualifications. Preferably, 2 years plus experience with diverse financial services, engineering, funds management or superannuation. Understanding of investment management concepts and its application. Experience with developing models and quantitative solutions to business problems. Producing reports for external stakeholders.
