Position Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Systems Analyst with back office experience to work in greenfield space on a new initiative. PIMCO, Man Group, IHS Markit, State Street, Microsoft and McKinsey & Company have partnered to form a new technology-led company, HUB, to build a cloud-based operating platform aimed at transforming asset managers' operations technology. HUB's greenfield platform will be built by asset managers to transform the industry's operating model by providing flexible and modular solutions across middle and back office functions, all while reducing cost and mitigating risks.
As a BSA in PIMCO's HUB technology team you will work with other technology analysts and engineers to jointly develop & integrate a new technology platform, evolve our post-trade processing practices, and solve problems in real time.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with PIMCO business users, project management and technology teams to develop plans for trade process automation & partnership
  • Work with external product, development, project management teams and vendors to perfect and execute these plans
  • Evaluate data exchange protocols and their contents. Draw plans for backup procedures
  • Be an agent of change to bring new workflows in internal trade processing and external interfaces
  • Design intelligent automation features to enhance processing efficiency
  • Perform testing including functional, regression, user acceptance, integration and performance to verify that the client's needs are met. Perform post-production release validation testing on any new improvements or bug fixes
  • Support users on daily operations
  • Build documentation, training, reference materials, release notes


Position Requirements:

  • 5+ years work experience in areas pertaining to financial technology and/or front/middle/back office trade operations
  • Expertise in post-trade processing, i.e. post-execution workflows performed in a money manager's front office, middle office and back office is a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of data usage by and communications between parties that participate in post-trade processing
  • Understanding of basic software architecture and application design
  • Superb communication skills
  • Strong desire to explore new areas to learn and grow professionally
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, diverse team environment
  • Understanding of fixed income, equity, foreign exchange and derivative trading and post-trade processes
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalence in Computer Science, Math, Business, Finance, Operations, or Economics
  • Experience working on greenfield projects is a nice-to-have


Technical Knowledge:

  • SQL and noSQL database packages
  • Excel proficiency
  • Feeds and interfaces processing
  • Unix proficiency is nice-to-have
  • FIX & FpML proficiency is nice-to-have
  • Post-trade processing (or straight through processing) platforms
