Position Description:

Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) seeks a Senior Developer for its Newport Beach, CA location. Job ID 31165

Duties: Develop Scalable REST services using micro service architecture, with Spring Boot-based services interacting through a combination of REST and Messaging for PIMCO Trading systems for Systematic Platform. Develop re-usable components/API to be used by various teams at PIMCO. Gather and analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Correct errors by implementing appropriate changes and conduct quality checks to ensure desired result is produced. Participate and lead all steps of the Software Development Life Cycle including architecture design, coding, code reviews, quality assurance testing, change management, and production support. Develop technical specifications to guide development efforts of other programmers. Execute project delivery in accordance with department standards. Conduct unit testing of code and develop procedures for independent testing of code. Repair Java bugs identified by the Business/QA department. Work in close collaboration with engineering teams to understand requirements, produce designs and implement solutions that meet user needs. Develop prototypes and/or functional/technical specifications to meet business needs. Collaborate with teammates, other service providers, vendors, and users to develop new programming methods.

Position Requirements:

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field, and five (5) years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience in the position offered or related position. Required experience must include: Utilizing Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, JDBC to develop software that delivers transformation solutions; Programming in Python and Flask to automate manual tasks and optimize performance and stability; Using Oracle 12C and Mongo DB to store and quickly retrieve data using Query Languages, and to analyze and optimize queries; Utilizing AMPS (Advanced Message Processing System) and IBM MQ as Messaging Platforms to asynchronously communicate between application modules to achieve scalable high-throughput, low-latency capabilities; Using HTML, JavaScript, and Angular to develop rich User Interface applications to be used across multiple business units; Working with end users to obtain detailed requirements and developing software solutions that meet user and business needs; Utilizing Java programming language to build microservices to interact with workflows and user interfaces; and Developing systems utilizing a microservices approach with REST APIs and cloud native development methodologies.
