Position Description:

Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) seeks a Senior Developer, Strategy Tagging and Attribution for its New York, NY location. Job ID 31166

Duties: Develop new system components and enhancements within the existing codebase for core applications, platforms and tools that comprise PIMCO's trading and portfolio management process, including: Traderisk sizing and capital allocation decision support tools, order generation, fine-grained trade risk and performance tracking, portfolio profit and loss (“PnL”) and historical performance attribution, and customized Trade Floor Reporting. Interact with end users (Trade Floor, PMs and Risk Managers among others) to define business needs, and develop software platform features that meet business needs. Provide architecture, design and coding of software applications and enhancements. Address engineering challenges associated with large data processing volumes, complex calculation dependencies, horizontal compute scale vs centralized data storage.

Position Requirements:

Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field, and three (3) years of experience in the position offered or related position. Full term of required experience must include: Utilizing Java programming to develop new software and add enhancements to existing codebase; Utilizing data management and database systems system design concepts to design database schemas that effectively store and retrieve data; Coding algorithms by applying data mining concepts to retrieve meaningful data; Applying internet and higher layer processes to perform web development; Utilizing Spring framework, Spring MVC, Spring JDBC Template and Spring Security; Developing SPAs like research management platform using AngularJS, Angular, TypeScript, HTML, CSS for web, and Java for server-side programming; Utilizing Sybase and Cassandra to store data; Using Apache Solr to conduct full-text search, faceted search, real-time indexing and hit highlighting; Using Eclipse and IntelliJ for Java programming, and Web Strom and Visual Studio Code for web programming; Using Ant /Maven to manage Java project dependencies, and Jenkins to manage builds facilitating CI/CD; and Used JUnit as testing framework for Java; and Karma, Jasmine and Jest as testing framework for Angular. Experience must also include: Utilizing data structure and algorithms to code; and Developing web pages using Perl, J2EE, HTML, JSP, CSS, JavaScript and JSTL tags.
