It is envisaged that the CFO will be involved in developing the company's network of partnering financial institutions, opening the door and engaging with senior stakeholders at banks, custodians, hedge funds, exchanges, and other FIS in the UK and intrenational locations.

In addition, the CFO wil be pivotal in managing the company's capital structure and preparing capital events, notably funding rounds. The CFO is responsible for the groundwork in managing relationships with existing and potential investors. He/she leads the preparation of roadshows, the development of investor pitches, and the full preparation of funding rounds, either from traditional (e.g., VC) or crypto sources (ICO, IEO...)

A good understanding and passion for blockchain and crypto currencies is preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all finance activities, with a strong attention to treasury and ALM
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive financial strategy to support business growth goals, and regulatory requirements, ensuring all accounting activities comply with financial regulations
  • Lead accounting process through all aspects of the month-end close
  • Lead the relationship with external auditors
  • Implement key operational finance processes across the company, ensuring full alignment & accountability across the organization
  • Prepare and maintain operating budgets, accounting and reconciliation mechanisms and manage and oversee the cash flow of the company ensuring it has the appropriate treasury controls
  • Manage banking/FI and treasury relationships. Develop and improve money movement and FX/crypto processes and procedures
  • Prepare and file financial statements and tax returns, as applicable
  • Prepare and file regulatory reporting as required by local authorities
  • Produce monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting and periodic reporting of financial results
  • Conduct profit and cost analyses, identifying funding requirements and cost reduction strategies
  • Drive the preparation of investor relations activities and capital events
  • Play a pivotal role in developing partnerships with financial institutions, engaging with senior executives at the FIs
  • Build up and develop a high-performing and lean finance team, in line with the company growth and the evolving requirements.

Candidate Qualifications:
  • MA in finance, accounting, or business, plus ACA, CPA or CFA would be very helfpul
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience in the financial services industry with proven experience (5+ years) as a CFO or similar, preferably in regulated institutions (banks, payment service provider.
  • International profile, experience in at least two countries including at least on major financial center
  • Proven track record of success in helping to grow and scale finance teams and operations in a startup environment
  • Excellent financial modeling, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Excellent knowledge of capital markets, liquidity management, fixed-income investing and associated regulatory requirements. Deep understanding of fiat FX and crypto currencies
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial regulatory frameworks in the company's varied geographies (Canada, Europe, Middle-East, APAC) and requirements related to financial institutions, electronic money, and crypto assets
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, appetite for working in a startup, coupled with exceptional organisational, analytical and leadership skills
  • Very strong intercultural and interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, good team player
  • Ability to travel for up to 25% of work time.
