Purpose of Role:
State Street Alpha Architecture team is seeking a versatile individual with strong business systems and data analysis skills for development and support of Alpha Data services and product offerings. The successful candidate must possess skill in complex business data analysis with expertise in functional requirements gathering and documentation; excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; a proven ability to liaise between business/implementation and technology teams; and strong collaboration skills. This role is part of broader Alpha Architecture team.

Major Responsibilities:
Role Specifics:
  • Support individual client implementation efforts (80% of activity)
    • Provide analysis and advice to clients (internal and external) on current and future state data-centric operating models
    • Liaise with clients in order to establish and document implementation requirements, develop "use cases" to document requirements
    • Maintain an excellent working knowledge of the Alpha offering to perform subject matter expert activities, consultancy, implementation configuration and demonstrations
    • Analyze and document data mappings from source systems to the Alpha Data Platform and onward data outputs for client implementations
    • Ongoing requirements analysis to align client expectations, requests are within the application framework
    • Analyze and document any derivation, workflow and enrichment required within the Alpha solution for client implementations
    • Support internal and client testing activities prior to "go live" date and immediate post-production transition with the support of test plan development and test scripts
    • Help manage project to time and cost objectives
  • Support on-going enhancements to scope of services for existing clients as needed
  • Play significant role in contributing input on EMEA-specific product requirements working closely with the global Alpha teams (for specific client or to close product gaps) and enlist Alpha Product support as related to:
    • In-bound and out-bound system feeds
    • Data models
    • Data marts
    • Product technical documentation
  • Play a significant role in contributing input on overall Alpha product enhancements and requirements working closely with the global Alpha product teams, including:
    • Product functionality
    • Technology architecture
    • Competitive positioning
    • Internal and external feed requirements
  • Execute on Proof of Concept projects for prospects and demonstrations as needed through the sales process
  • Collaborate with other Alpha implementation team members to share best practices, raise issues, develop consistent global processes
  • Consolidate application design for global strategic model
  • Apply functional business knowledge to system roadmap and be part of agreeing future enhancements / development activities

Level of Education/ Specific Qualifications:
  • University degree in the field of computer science, data management or other technical field
  • An advanced degree in one these fields is a plus, as is CFA designation


Skills and Experience
  • 6-10 years of strong experience with data management systems within Financial Services
  • Previous experience implementing software or data services
  • Agile development process and expertise
  • Technical knowledge of running SQL, Squirrel across data architecture
  • Knowledge and experience of multi-tenancy architecture and complex system architecture
  • Knowledge of ETL and data transformation
  • Knowledge of job schedulers such as Autosys
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Service Platform (ESP) a plus
  • Knowledge of State Street and its technology architecture a plus
