About this role

The Enterprise Risk Management team within Analytics & Quantitative Solutions is actively seeking a Director to lead the development of impactful Asset-Liability Management (ALM) and Regulatory Analytics solutions across Aladdin client sectors, including Insurance, Pensions, and Banking. This professional will partner with leadership in Aladdin Client Engagement, Financial Modeling Product Marketing, Product Management, and Aladdin Engineering teams to engage with senior investment and risk professionals at our clients to help shape and drive the strategic roadmap for Aladdin's ALM and regulatory analytics capabilities.

About the Analytics & Quantitative Solutions

The Analytics & Quantitative Solutions (AQS) team within the Aladdin Business is responsible for delivering high-impact solutions to our clients' most complex investment, risk and business challenges, as well as growing and improving Aladdin's analytics capabilities through research and innovation, bring to bear the collective intelligence of the Aladdin client community. Each team member is tasked with understanding market and investment practice trends along with client needs, and proactively offering new and comprehensive solutions using Aladdin analytics and data.

As a key leader within AQS, this executive will play a critical role in providing solutions to complex investment and risk management problems, accomplished through leading the team in the design and execution of analytics solutions projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and execution of scalable and tailored ALM and regulatory analytics, driving solutions to sophisticated problems
  • Act as the ALM subject-matter guide in discussions with Aladdin prospects as part of the pre-sales process
  • Lead the team in developing solutions to client and prospective client use cases
  • Lead the design of and execution of analytical solutions. Operate as an inspiring leader through active publishing, by addressing industry challenges, and by showcasing Aladdin capabilities and solutions
  • Lead firm-wide analytics initiatives and/or strategic partner relationship initiatives
  • Design and lead engagement/road show strategy for key modeling and analytics capabilities
  • Provide subject matter guidance to enable team to address complex analytics inquiries from clients
  • Coordinate and communicate cross-functional activities and dependencies with partner teams across BlackRock
  • Manage and mentor junior members of the Analytics & Quantitative Solutions team

Desired Qualifications
  • 10+ years proven experience in financial services or consulting, with an emphasis on serving large financial institutions (e.g., large insurance groups, international banking organizations)
  • Strong subject matter expertise in ALM and deep familiarity with regulatory capital and liquidity requirements for insurance and/or banking organizations
  • Validated history of building hard-working teams and global leadership
  • Subject matter expertise & proven track record of industry leadership in risk management and/or fixed income or multi-asset portfolio management
  • Academic degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Management, or Social Sciences is desired but not required
  • CFA/FRM designation is desired but not required
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey sophisticated concepts simply and clearly to clients
  • Knowledge of various analytics systems/tools and their underlying analytical models is desirable. Strong quantitative skills are required
  • Experience with scripting, visualization tools, programming languages e.g., Python, VBA, or SQL, is desirable but not required
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience understanding complex issues
  • Enjoy a fast-paced, high-intensity environment. Well-organized with the ability to manage several priorities
  • Ability to lead diverse team of individuals with varying levels of professional experience
