Job Title: Senior Analyst ICAAP Capital Aggregation

Department: Group Risk - Enterprise Risk

Job Summary:

In order to improve the capital management capability of the Group and to meet the requirements of Basel II/III, you will manage the detailed analysis and reporting of internal Risk capital measures including monitoring and oversight of aggregated capital demand against predefined Risk sensitive limits and in support of internal capital management activities of the Group.

You will be responsible for generating management reports and to provide insights to the ongoing and capital management objectives. The major responsibility will be to ensure that the capital consumed is monitored against available capital resources and in compliance with regulatory requirements at all times.

You will work closely with the Group Risk, Group Treasury and Group Financial Control Division and relevant departments like IT and Business etc. to ensure the smooth end-to-end implementations of other Risk projects and tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in the setting and documentation of the Group Capital Management strategy that will include:
    • Targeted credit ratings
    • Strategic use of capital
    • Risk Appetite Management
    • Targeted returns linking into targeted pricing, incentivization.
    • RAROC measurement and development of target hurdles
  • Custodian of ICAAP to ensure ongoing development/refinements to the capital management process, documentation and roll-out.
  • Liaison with Regulator with any ICAAP related queries, responsible area for coordinating SREP process and preparation of annual ICAAP submission
  • Development of the Group economic capital philosophy as well as implementation of credit portfolio management philosophy
  • Review and challenge methodologies used in the measurement of internal Risk capital (incl. data and business rules, assumptions) - assist and support with model validation
  • Update the capital plan as part of the strategy planning process and in consistent with updated financial planning process
  • Develop approaches to internal capital allocation
  • Facilitate the cascade of the capital planning process to other international host jurisdictions
  • Preparation of stress testing for the Group, preparation in defining of relevant scenarios


Education/ Experience Requirements
  • Bachelors degree preferably in Mathematics, Statistics and Finance related subjects.
  • Masters Degree or professional qualification like FRM/ CFA will be more preferable.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the field of Treasury & Financial Risk Management, including Economic Capital methodologies, capital allocation strategies
  • Experience in of MIS system implementation firms.
  • Strong knowledge of Risk modelling such as Value at Risk and stress testing etc.
  • Knowledge of different Risk management systems will be considered a plus.
  • Hands on experience in spreadsheet analysis/ design as part of the capital planning and forecasting activities (ICAAP), covering financial projections, macro-economic scenarios, scenario analysis, stress testing analysis (statistical) and B/Sheet forecast analysis
  • Knowledges of Capital Risk regulatory requirements and financial modelling skills are advantageous
  • VBA/ R/ Python and ability to handle SAS coding is beneficial
  • Good understanding of CRR, CRD IV, EBA guidelines, Basel papers and FAQs
  • Strong analytical, numerical and excel skills
  • Excellent technical understanding of all Basel II requirements in respect of capital management Pillar 2, strategic capital concepts
  • Demonstrable ability to balance theoretical view with business view as well as be able to analyze output from the tools/models to make appropriate business decisions
  • Prior experience of designing and implementing Risk management processes.
  • Knowledge of Basel and FSA requirements
  • Superior knowledge of banking practices and processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial markets and products.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and/or projects with the use of various IT tools and technologies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Risk concepts, banking products/ operations/ systems, pertinent regulatory requirements, International Accounting Standards and related pronouncements, including related best practices.
  • Self-motivated, eye for detail.
  • Flexible team player and able to work and deliver under pressure.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others to gain commitment.
