Risk Management:

JPMorgan Chase's firmwide Risk Management function operates independently of marketing and product groups within the lines of business The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of the firm reports directly to the CEO and is accountable to the Board of Directors, primarily through the Directors Risk Policy Committee. The Chief Risk Officer of Asset Wealth Management (AWM CRO) reports directly to the firmwide CRO and is a member of the Risk Operating Committee as well as the Asset & Wealth Management Operating Committee.

Our Risk Management team is committed to being a world-class leader in risk management, maintaining a system of strong controls, providing guidance and clear direction on key principles and proactively managing risks.

Key responsibilities include:

Risk Management is an independent function of JPMorgan Asset Management (JPMAM) and has dedicated teams, with separate reporting lines from the Asset Management business. You will:
  • Monitor and report on investment risk at the level of strategy, funds or accounts, including:
    • Stress and scenario analysis
    • Global exposure for funds (VaR, commitment)
    • Leverage
    • Liquidity risk
    • Carry out relevant investigation and escalation of limit / threshold excesses
  • Prepare and coordinate risk management reports for Risk Committees, Management Committees, Board of Directors and regulators
  • Supervise the production, distribution, and accuracy of recurrent and event driven risk reports
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis on products or market related themes for senior management
  • Contribute to development, enhancement, and periodic review of analytics, risk assessment methodologies, and reporting capabilities
  • Assist with analyzing new business initiatives, including fund launches and ensure risk requirements are met
  • Assist with the maintenance of procedures, Risk Management Process documents and regulatory capital documents (ICAAP)
Skills/qualifications
  • Financial certifications (like CFA) appreciated
  • Strong all round PC skills
  • Attention to detail - take personal responsibility to ensure that work meets the highest quality standards
  • Verbal and written communication and presentation skills -ability to present risk exposure and appropriate risk management to senior management, clients, boards, and regulators
  • Act on own initiative and fulfil objectives with minimum supervision
  • Escalation - ensures problems have appropriate prominence and urgency - 'See something, say something' mindset
  • Ability to relate market events to risk positions and analyze risk accordingly
  • Good team player - listen and consider the views of others
  • Good organizational skills - sense of urgency, meets deadlines
