The Role: Finance Manager Grade: 10 ( relevant for internal applicants only ): The Location: New York, NY

The Team: The finance team is responsible for financial planning and analysis related to budgeting, forecasting and partnering with other functions of the business. The team values collaboration and the ability to think critically while problem solving. The role reports to the Finance Director and has one direct report.
Responsibilities:
  • Key contributor to the month end close, annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes
  • Partner with the Information Technology team by routinely leading meetings with various Technology stakeholders (including CTO and direct reports) to gather further insight on initiatives and investments
  • Provide in-depth financial analysis for critical operating expense items in conjunction with preparation of monthly/quarterly reporting and variance analysis
  • Play a lead role in creating and maintaining key performance indicators and development of financial and operational dashboards by senior management, specifically, SPDJI Product Profitability analysis
  • Develop FP&A staff on best practices and process efficiencies and the systems and tools utilized by S&P Global Finance, provide feedback and developmental guidance to direct report
  • Produce slides for quarterly reporting and ad hoc basis for internal and external presentations
  • Provide financial support for M&A activity and commercial deal-making on an ad hoc basis
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $68,900 to $155,900. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. Basic Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate at various levels across the company
  • Possesses strong critical thinking and problem solving ability
  • Strong Excel, Powerpoint, and data manipulation skillset
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and see projects through to successful completion
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team
  • 3+ years of experience related to financial planning and analysis, public accounting, asset management or economic analysis preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated interest in financial markets and securities trading
  • CPA/CFA/MBA in process (or as a goal)
  • Experience with Tableau, Anaplan, and/or Oracle is a plus
