We are looking for a VP, Digital Strategy & Wealth Management - Asia to join our team in Hong Kong.

This role will be part of the Digital Strategy & Wealth Management Team whose role is to develop a high level of digital capabilities and expertise giving Franklin Templeton the ability to expand distribution with existing and new clients and increase our revenue by participating in adjacent businesses across the wealth management value chain.

This role will play a critical role in leading the organizational transformation of our business in Asia Pacific including India to become a digital first, client-centric model, translating the needs of our clients and key internal and external partners into the digital space. This role will be a primary influencer as to how to structure the resources, technology and processes needed to achieve our aggressive goals in digital growth. This will require both internal collaboration with our marketing, technology, shared service teams, as well as a central focus on working with Fintechs and vendors to create integrated solutions and optimize value added.

The team will evolve Franklin Templeton's Digital Business Strategy and Wealth Management Initiatives - identification, planning, and implementation hand-off. The team will develop and implement digital channels and capabilities to protect and/or drive revenue across Client Types, including focus on the end consumer, and will champion initiatives related to the changes our business needs to undergo to meet these complex digital, client and industry shifts.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position?

Digital Advisory
  • Enhance FT Products and Solutions distribution across Digital Channels
  • Identify, Evaluate, Engage, Partner with Digital Wealth Platforms
  • Partner with Traditional Distributors for their Digital Initiatives
  • Scope, Finalize, Support execution of Digital Ecosystem Initiatives

Digital Wealth Management
  • Expand beyond Asset Management in Wealth Value Chain
  • Evaluate and Determine Backward and Forward Integration Opportunities
  • Identify, Evaluate, Build / Acquire Digital Advisor Platforms
  • Evaluate, Partner / Build Direct to Consumer (D2C) Capabilities

Fintech & Partnerships
  • Partner with Fintechs to drive Strategic Initiatives
  • Identify, Evaluate, Engage and Finalize most promising FinTechs that offer differentiated capabilities for distribution
  • Determine association approach - Partner / License / Invest / Acquire


What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
  • Bachelor's degree. MBA and/or CFA is desirable
  • At least 15 years of relevant work experience at a medium to large size financial services company
  • Understanding of broad array of investment asset classes, strategies and investment process
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets, digital trends, retail asset management industry, business analysis
  • Good understanding of the APAC market and strong client relationships
  • Strong conceptual skills and communication skills, ability to lead complex, strategic initiatives in a matrixed environment
  • Self-starter and ability to distill direction: Lead analytical efforts in an unstructured environment to identify insights and improve decision-making across various stakeholders, including growth, customer needs, and internal alignment and engagement. Develop and deliver on strategic initiatives for our leadership teams
  • Experience collaborating with global teams with diverse skillsets and levels of expertise, as well as sensitivity and understanding of cultural nuances
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to build relationships across all levels, delegate effectively and apply strong influencing/negotiation skills
  • Mandarin and Cantonese language speaking skills will be a significant plus
  • Familiarity with Financial Services or Investment Management industry with investment product and vehicle knowledge that is relevant to Franklin Templeton Investments
  • Executive-level instinctual complex business problem solving skills
  • Travel is required
