Who we are looking for
In this role you will have investment underwriting experience across equity and fixed income managers, with particular depth in hedge fund strategies and have a demonstrated investment track record in these strategies and related sub-strategies. You are expected to research and generate recommendations that are in line with client portfolio requirements and have the ability to communicate views. You will also be a part of the OCIO team where working in a collaborative way with team members will be required.

What you will be responsible for
As VP Manager Research and Oversight you will
  • Contribute to manager research and rating process with a focus on hedge funds, but also involvement in long-only equity and fixed income managers
  • You will be closely involved with the manager oversight, due diligence and reporting process, including generating and monitoring the watch list and other governance processes within SSGA across public markets asset classes
  • Capable of underwriting a prospective manager individually or as a part of a team
  • You will participate in OCIO investment process and communicate process/decisions to the team members
  • Interface/communicate with OCIO clients about manager performance

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of institutional asset management/manager research experience
  • 5+ years experience in a role conducting manager due diligence including presenting findings to internal committees and/or clients
  • CFA or MBA preferred
