Economist

Our client is an international Investment Bank. Currently they are looking for a junior Economist to join their team in Asia.

Responsibilities

• Directly report to Chief Economist (Asia ex-Japan)
• Conduct macro economic research for clients
• Monitor and forecast economic performance especially for China and Hong Kong
• Interpret financial information and analyze data using mathematical models and statistical techniques
• Provide economic advice, recommendations and presentation on research results
• Handle routine and ad-hoc requests from our clients and sales

Job Requirements

• University degree in Economics or a related discipline; Master in Economics is preferred
• Candidate with CFA, CPA qualification will be an advantage
• Minimum of 3 years' of relevant experience in financial institutions / banks
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
• Ability to work under pressure, with strong communication and analytical skills
• Good knowledge and keen interest in global/regional/Chinese economies
• Advance in Excel, Powerpoint and desktop publishing
