About this role
We are seeking an individual with exceptionally strong China experience with a proven track record in an existing financial services firm or banking institution. The successful candidate will be accountable for establishing and overseeing the overall China businesses for BlackRock, both within mainland China as well as in Hong Kong.
This individual will be an important interface with internal stakeholders at all levels and across different business group - and excel at managing external shareholders of BlackRock.

About this role
We are seeking an individual with exceptionally strong China experience with a proven track record in an existing financial services firm or banking institution. The successful candidate will be accountable for establishing and overseeing the overall China businesses for BlackRock, both within mainland China as well as in Hong Kong.
This individual will be an important interface with internal stakeholders at all levels and across different business group - and excel at managing external shareholders of BlackRock.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy : Partner with China leadership team and business functions to establish sound operational and governance model, as well as a clear & highly connected engagement model across client facing teams, investments and operations.
- Operating Model : Ensuring a clear operating approach across all China business units and teams. Partner with functional leads to evaluate operating model to identify and address areas of improvement, establish business review process in conjunction with leadership teams and provide input into regional QBR process.
- Business Management : Help define annual business objectives and targets; and partner with Finance, HR and respective business heads of China to set and execute the annual budget; drive urgency, alignment and cooperation across the China business both onshore and offshore to deliver on the vision and plan across functions.
- Industry Engagement : Establish strong industry relationships with onshore business partners and service providers where necessary, and keep internal key stakeholders apprised of material changes.
- Talent & Culture: Foster a strong, collaborative culture across all China businesses, working closely with HR to establish a clear talent strategy, make key early hires and build succession plans for key positions.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10-15 years working experience in directly relevant function, including COO, Corporate Strategy or business management at a large financial services firm with China businesses and operations
- Significant working experience in foreign financial services organizations or banking institutions operating in the PRC
- Superb written and oral communication skills in both Mandarin Chinese and English
- Demonstrated leadership skills; ability to lead through influence at all levels of an organization
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Superb problem-solving skills, dynamic and innovative mindset.
- Ability to drive results with both minimal bureaucracy and superb cross-functional engagement
- Excellent command of the detail and the big picture
- BA/BS degree in related field (Economics, Finance or Accounting); MBA or CFA is preferred
