Our client is a leading UK life insurer and bulk annuity provider. They are looking for a credit focused investment manager with experience in asset allocation and portfolio management to join their growing in-house investment team.

You will be managing a portfolio of corporate bonds, emerging market debt, municipal bonds on the liquid side, and infrastructure debt, commercial real estate debt and private placements on the illiquid side. There will also be the opportunity to work on new credit asset classes as the portfolio grows.

Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Management of a corporate bonds
  • Lead research and evaluation of new asset classes, investment managers and funds, including manager selection, investment due diligence and operational / investment risk assessment.
  • Investment strategy for both the matching and surplus portfolio.
  • Work alongside Credit Analysts on technical analysis of deals, including new investments in private assets, and monitoring of the group's portfolio

Experience
  • 5+ years working knowledge of fixed income strategies investment due diligence and/or asset allocation and portfolio construction
  • Degree and the either CFA or FIA
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present investment matters in a clear and concise manner.
  • The issues surrounding investing on behalf of a (life) assurer
