Role is in LA or Irvine - and is also nationwide search with relo. Sr Reference Data Lead Analyst, you will actively be engaged in redefining the operational environment and data ecosystem that will support our business for years to come. You will be responsible for determining data management best practices to enable the production team to maintain Security Master data accurately and timely. Your scope will include leading the global teams change book of work, analyzing Investment and Distribution data, including asset setup, data quality reporting and the identification and remediation of issues or exceptions. You will also directly engage with key stakeholders (i.e. Investment Group, Trade Operations, Legal/Compliance, Valuations, Pricing, Order Management, Corporate Actions, Fund Accounting, etc.) and partner closely with Information Technology to identify, prioritize and execute on key business projects and other business requests. You will be responsible for the advancement of all aspects of reference data capabilities and service offerings including Instrument, Issuer, Index Constituents, Exchange and ESG data. You will play an integral role in the implementation of the reference data strategic roadmap; guiding cross-functional global teams and collaborating with senior management to define, develop, launch and drive critical business initiatives. You will recommend data model and operational solutions for the business and work with others across the organization to ensure our high standards for quality and excellence are maintained.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage and lead global Reference Data projects and change initiatives to successfully meet tactical & strategic objectives in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Be a product specialist and take a lead role in the identification, analysis and resolution of data quality issues.
  • Collaborate with key business partners and stakeholders to review project and change requests, review implementation capacity and ensure alignment with key business priorities.
  • Responsible for enabling and supporting managers in the prioritization of all work within the reference data domain.
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively with global teams within Reference Data and across the wider business.
  • Set expectations around Reference Data operational best practice with a focus on identifying and delivering process optimization opportunities.
  • Effect change and acceptance of processes, roles and ownership and ensure alignment with business priorities.
  • Advise on how data might best be presented, structured and standardized. You will contribute to the improvement of data analytics systems and platforms.
  • Actively train associates to adopt common approaches to data issues.
  • Develop and foster a highly effective, highly engaged data model to enable the global Reference Data team to reach their full potential.
  • Deal with complex and technical matters with the ability to translate these in a non-complex way to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to develop and socialize product vision, strategy, roadmap.
  • Support all aspects of the reference data management tool and capabilities.

 

 

  • You have a bachelor’s in business, finance, economics, or relevant field of study. MBA or Master’s degree preferred; CFA is a plus.
  • You have expertise in Aladdin Security Master expertise and are proficient in other leading Enterprise Data Management platform.
  • You’re an expert level Bloomberg user, with detailed knowledge of their back office and per security request files and mnemonics.
  • You have 5-7 years+ of Data Management and Security Master experience, with at least 3 years on the buy-side.
  • You have extensive operational experience in Instrument and Issuer Data.
  • You’ve been a subject matter expert to mobilize internal experts to resolve issues when required.
  • You have excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly advance Excel skills.
  • You have experience of formally documenting operational processes and procedures.
  • You’re a team player and can thrive working independently.
  • You’re results oriented and can lead teams in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • You have excellent project/change management skills.
  • You’re inquisitive and an analytical thinker who demonstrates the initiative to identify and logically resolve issues.
  • You’re comfortable working in ambiguity while developing approaches that lead to successful resolutions.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and can credibly facilitate cross-department discussions.
  • You demonstrate the initiative to stay abreast of industry and business trends and events.
  • You apply sound business knowledge and compliance principles to a variety of situations.
  • You can extract information through asking questions, active listening and interviewing.
