Job Description
Columbia Threadneedle Investments is a leading and evolving global asset management company. The Senior Trading Business Analyst will be involved in all activities necessary to provide operating and technical support to the global trading platform and will be a key member of the team supporting trading operations across the globe for all asset classes (i.e., equity, fixed income, derivatives and FX). This position requires a dynamic person who will enjoy a fast-paced environment and the opportunity to quickly build expertise across multiple disciplines within the asset management business.
Responsibilities
• Development and implementation of trading policies, procedures and workflows that incorporate best practice protocols and meet compliance and regulatory requirements from both a global and regional perspective
• Serve as a key business support resource for traders across the global, as well other front office personnel, on trading related matters with a focus on risk and operational controls
• Liaise with business partners (e.g., Investments, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk Management) to support on-going trading operations, including pro-actively addressing internal and external changes that affect the business
• Working with both internal business partners and external vendors, support trading related technology needs including:
o Management of current operating systems
o Implementation of system enhancements and upgrades to existing applications
o Deployment of new applications
• Support trading related reporting requirements:
o Internal reporting for senior management and boards
o Trade cost analysis
o General trade related reporting
• Support Committees that oversee trading activities
• Management of small to medium size projects requiring developing efficient, long-term solutions to meet changes in the operating environment or address issues that arise
• Support the management of vendor services for the trading platform
Required Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years of relevant experience
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to produce effective recommendations to senior management.
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Energetic and self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external constituents
• Ability to analyze data with attention to detail and draw meaningful insights
• Ability to interrelate and understand increasingly complex issues
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects concurrently
Preferred Qualifications
CFA or additional professional qualifications are beneficial
