Position Overview:

The Corporate Data Specialist role will be part of the Global Content Operations (GCO) organization, within the Chief Data Office (CDO) of Fitch Group, and will interface with teams across CDO as well as Fitch Ratings and Fitch Solutions. GCO are responsible for the sourcing and input of fundamental financial data for the banking, insurance, corporate and public finance sectors. This data is then utilised internally by the ratings credit analysts for their fundamental data requirements, and externally by clients subscribing to Fitch Solutions financial data products, via the Fitch Connect platform.

The role will work alongside other Corporate Data Specialists in overseeing the collection of fundamental data via centralized document sourcing, data entry and quality control functions, and will work extensively with other GCO teams and Fitch Ratings analytical staff, to assure the quality of the data collected.

The Data Specialist will be a key component of the initiative to centralize, streamline and accelerate the capture/ collection of corporate fundamental data. This role will be highly influential in helping to define the collection methodology, to ensure it meets the current and future needs of Fitch's corporate credit ratings analysts workflow. This is a great opportunity to join the new CDO function, as it transforms the role and the direction of data across the organization. The position reports to the Head of Financial Institutions & Corporate Content.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in regular meetings with members of Fitch Ratings, to understand their fundamental data needs and ensure alignment of goals for data representation
  • Ensure highest levels of data quality for all corporate sectors, checking data has been correctly processed by analysts and providing feedback as required
  • Contribute towards creating and maintaining, best practice documents/ guidance notes to enhance the overall data capture process, identifying and delivering training to meet the needs of data outsource partners in order to support consistently high data quality
  • Assist in the creation of key management reporting on a monthly basis, presenting results to stakeholders on a quarterly basis.
  • Provide support to the Head of Financial Institutions & Corporate Content


Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience of working with corporate data, in an accountancy, auditing, counterparty credit risk environment, with an understanding of IFRS, GAAP & wider accounting fundamental processes
  • A CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CFA qualified or part qualified candidate would be preferred
  • Must have a highly organised and methodical approach to work, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience of interacting effectively with senior management
  • A strong leader with the ability to inspire others within a team environment
  • Experience of delivering projects around financial data process (sourcing and capture) and quality assurance
  • Experience of working with offshore or outsourcing teams is highly sought
  • To be a self-starter who can pick up new processes quickly and accurately
  • Have a can-do attitude to problems
