The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) currently has an opening for a Credit Analyst I or II in our Kansas City or New York Office. This position would primarily focus on corporate transactions but could be assigned securities for other sectors depending upon the workload of the office. We are looking for a team member who would enjoy working for an organization that strives every day to support the public good and make a difference. This is a full-time position in a positive and flexible environment.
This position serves as the primary analyst in an assigned area to perform high quality credit analysis and with an expectation of well developed, credit and analytical expertise in the field of assignment. Functions include rating and analyzing a high-volume portfolio of debt securities and funds for inclusion in the NAIC Securities database. Analysts are also expected to actively contribute to various SVO initiatives and projects on a regular basis. This position works independently and must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and maintain collegial relations with peers, and other internal and external customers. Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:
Credit Analyst I
Master's degree (M.A.), M.B.A. in Finance or equivalent and/or CFA. Related experience of 3 to 5 years with at least 2 years of fundamental credit analysis, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Credit Analyst II
Master's degree (M.A.), M.B.A. in Finance or equivalent and/or CFA. Related experience of over 5 to 7 years with at least 5+ years of fundamental credit analysis, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience performing credit analysis at a Nationally Recognized Statistical Rating Organization (NRSRO or “credit rating agency”).
