Position Overview
The Institutional Internal Sales Associate will work with a team of Institutional Directors (specifically Taft Hartley) to help manage and develop relationships with Institutional clients. The associate will provide support for the Institutional Director, responding to client enquiries, preparing material for meetings, calling new clients and searching for new opportunities. It requires someone with the ability to take initiative and work proactively with the other members of the team to ensure we are delivering the highest level of service to the clients and assisting the sales team in their outreach to clients. The candidate should have the basic skill set required to develop into a sales role later in his/her career.
The incumbent is required to understand all aspects of our Investment product range, the channel we are dealing with and some aspects of legal, operations and compliance. The incumbent is part of the Institutional Sales team and would work closely with relationship management, client service and the consultant team.
Responsibilities
Sales Support
  • Responsible for developing opportunities with Institutional clients which includes day to day inquiries, troubleshooting and reporting. Attain a deeper understanding of the needs and requirements of Institutional clients working closely with the Institutional Director.
  • Assist the Institutional Director in searching for new clients and opportunities
  • Work alongside the Institutional Director to set up, prepare for client meetings and conduct follow up.
  • Assist the Institutional Director in setting up and potentially hosting fund manager meetings
  • Prepare and disseminate communications to our clients via Schroder's Communication system.
  • Provide on going maintenance of CRM database, client distribution lists and other client informational spread sheets.
  • Preparation of ad hoc reports required by clients and their consultants to be completed by stated deadline.
  • Respond to enquiries requested by Client and/or Institutional Director. This includes preparation, processing, and circulation as stipulated by internal procedures.
  • General assistance to the sales team to fulfill reporting requirements, manage client inquiries and client information.
  • Follow the policies and procedures as defined by your manager that will allow you to effectively complete your job.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Up to 5 years of experience in client service or sales support
  • Prior work experience in financial services preferred.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills and written skills. Ability to explain relatively complex concepts in a clear and concise manner to others within the organization.
  • Responsible for planning own workload typically against a backdrop of changing priorities and/or external events for the coming quarter.
  • Study towards CFA is desirable when in the role
  • FINRA Licenses: Series 7 and Series 66 (or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire)
