Job Description
This position will be responsible for broadly supporting equity research and investment analysis, participating in the quantitative development and maintenance of the Ameriprise International Equity Recommended List, and assisting with the Investment Research Group (IRG) Model Portfolios. This position will also provide modeling, screening, and fundamental analytical support for Equity Research initiatives, contribute to cross-organizational projects, support senior analysts, and improve existing analytical tools.
Responsibilities
This role is responsible for:
• Quantitative Analysis: Developing and maintaining a proprietary quantitative screening and rating methodology for International equities (both developed and emerging market regions).
• Fundamental Analysis/Support: Assisting senior equity analysts with high-level analytical support, development of quantitative models and analytics, peer review of team research notes and reports as requested. This role will also aid in building quantitative models and reports that enable detailed analysis and measurement of proprietary Model Portfolios for improved decision making.
• IRG Model Portfolio Analysis/Support: Aid in building quantitative models and reports that enable detailed analysis and measurement of proprietary Model Portfolios for improved decision making.
Required Qualifications
• 3+ years experience
• Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Investment-related field
• Must have strong technical and modeling skills, including expert use of Microsoft Office software (particularly Excel) and Bloomberg and/or FactSet.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the proper use of grammar, composition, and sentence structure.
Licensing/Registrations:
• Series 7
• Series 16 or ability to obtain within 120 days
• Series 86/87 or ability to obtain within 120 days
• Series 63 or Series 66 or ability to obtain within 120 days
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior equity research experience
• CFA
• MBA
