Investment Services Private Market and Finance Department

The Investment Services Private Market and Finance (ISPVMF) Department is responsible for investment services for the private market and financial management across the GIC group. It is responsible for providing operations and reporting support to the private market business of GIC as well as budgeting, accounting, payment processing, cash management, tax and financial & management reporting services to all departments, corporate management companies and the global offices of the GIC group. It is involved in deal structuring and closing, transaction processing, administration and accounting of investment holding companies, review of financial controls for asset operations, cash & securities reconciliation, valuation and financial reporting for assets under management, and external debt financing

The Business Manager will focus on developing strategic business and financial solutions for the Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Integrated Strategy business lines. This role will have responsibilities over strategic transformation initiatives in supporting our investment services and finance capabilities in the private markets.

Responsibilities

This would include the following:
    1. Develop strategic blueprints to develop and implement business and operating models to enable greater scalability in investments support in the private markets
    2. Work on business strategy and execution, including developing strategies across business and functional lines to drive synergies and strategic outcomes
    3. Work across investment departments to execute cross-departmental initiatives
    4. Partner with functional teams to drive operational excellence
    5. Implement change management programs to support the execution of change initiatives.

The successful candidate will support the Department in delivering Sustainable Top Quartile Performance. Accordingly, they are required to interact with people at all levels across the firm. He/ She will also work closely with teams across 10 GIC locations, as well as counterparties and service providers across the globe.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical abilities with an eye for details, and good interpersonal, project management, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate and think strategically yet operate at a tactical level.
  • Good Degree in Finance, Business or related fields with minimum 15 years relevant working experience in the financial services industry.
  • Experience in investment operations, business management and strategic planning
  • Good knowledge of private equity, real estate and infrastructure businesses, and additional qualifications like CFA would be favourably considered.
