About the Role The trader is the primary information conduit between the firm, its portfolio managers and analysts and the Street. They play a material role in the overall investment process, bridging the firm's investment team with external market participants for the purpose of generating excellent returns across funds, SMAs, and CLOs. Among the various roles, they build relationships with broker salespeople, traders, and capital markets; manage the loan trade blotter, including buy and sale trades across primary and secondary markets; manage the new issue calendar and optimizes primary market allocations though strong order management; actively participate in credit discussions and proactively generate and communicate trade ideas based on absolute and/or relative value. Responsibilities The Trader is responsible for executing orders in US broadly syndicated bank loans across multiple strategies including CLOs, mutual funds, separately managed and commingled institutional accounts, and multi credit portfolios. The successful candidate should have extensive buyside experience trading syndicated loans, a robust understanding of CLO mechanics, meticulous attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, strong verbal and written communication skills, and unimpeachable integrity are essential. The successful candidate should be comfortable trading high yield corporates, ETFs and derivatives. They must be a team player and work collaboratively with multiple constituents. Knowledge of Allvue's Everest platform is beneficial though not required. The loan must work collaboratively across multiple internal teams including Operations, Compliance, Risk, and other investment teams and be comfortable meeting with and presenting to existing and prospective clients, particularly CLO investors Our expectation is that people will bring the following to Alcentra: The successful candidate will be a problem solver. Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelor s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. MBA and/or CFA preferred. 10 years or more of total work experience preferred and 5- 8 years of investment experience preferred.
