Job Details
Primary position objective and purpose:
The Investment Analyst, Asset Allocation will work with other members of the team in managing the multi-asset class funds, particularly the Target-Date and Target-Risk funds. The Investment Analyst will conduct asset allocation research and work on building asset allocation models with the help of Senor Managers of the team.
Essential Functions/Activities:
- Build and enhance the asset allocation models; monitor portfolio allocations daily and undertake rebalancing procedures as necessary.
- Work on the data needs of the allocation models.
- Perform comprehensive asset allocation reviews on target-date and target-risk funds as well as other funds and portfolios managed by the team; support Senior Fund Managers through a team approach to provide continuity of daily management of other funds.
- Perform both qualitative and quantitative analysis on funds/ sub-advised portfolios; determine cash flow impact across funds and coordinate with Finance Division and other Fund Managers on all cash flow transactions.
- Stay updated on the financial markets, the economy, and assist in determining how changes in the financial markets impact asset allocation products.
- Incorporate term year and glide path assumptions into the allocation process.
- Conduct performance attribution relative to benchmarks and peers.
- Monitor target-date and target-risk fund trends and developments and contribute to strategic initiatives and product development.
- Perform basic responsibilities relating to quarter-end and year-end activities, as well as periodic reviews of disclosure materials.
- Support due diligence activities on external investment managers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience
1 year of investment industry experience, with specific experience in investment data collection and spreadsheet analysis, and investment-related communications preferred.
