Position Description: Quantitative Research Analyst

We are looking for an analyst to prepare risk and return estimates of asset classes, investment manager strategies and client portfolios and to perform background research on investment managers for the firm’s investment process. The successful candidate will have opportunities to build on their knowledge of quantitative methods and the investment business and advance within the organization.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Enter and manipulate data to calculate risk levels and expected return using proprietary datasets and models.
  2. Ensure data consistency and integrity, including troubleshooting existing applications.
  3. Evaluate current risk and return processes against new technologies and techniques to deliver functionality required by business stakeholders and identify and implement possible areas of improvement.
  4. Coordinate with investment teams to complete ad-hoc operational projects and gather information to aid investment decisions.
  5. Lead data-driven research projects to support due diligence and reporting for our clients’ investment programs and managers.

Characteristics of a Successful Candidate

    3. working and programming in Excel VBA
  2. Bachelor’s degree and some investment industry knowledge / experience
  3. Pays careful attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness
  4. Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  6. Open-minded, curious learner
  7. Tenacity to dig for information that is not easily available
  8. Self-motivated, focused on continuous improvement
