JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Take a lead role in the coordination of William Blair’s relationship management administrative activities for existing clients, with a focus on complex transactions and issues. Support client relationship goals by providing excellent customer service in all interactions with clients, including professionalism in communication, timely response to inquiries and proactive follow up and follow through. Regularly interact with clients to address inquiries, produce client reports, answer questions and address client needs. Support cross selling goals in an on-going manner for the Client Relationship team.  Mentors junior staff and serves as a resource for complicated transactions.

  • Maintain complex client portfolios. Perform client service duties associated with the maintenance of client portfolios, with special focus on complex transactions and issues.
  • Support client relationship goals by handling high profile projects with initiative, accuracy and a sense of urgency.
  • Partner with administrative group, Client Services, Portfolio Specialists and other internal groups to ensure the timely and accurate completion of required accounting and reporting responsibilities. Serve as a resource to junior staff for complicated, atypical transactions.
  • Interact on a daily basis with the most complex/sophisticated client organizations, or those with complex needs. Address inquiries from custodians and clients, including answering questions, running client reports and performing specific research and/or investigations into operational issues.
  • Support cross selling goals by providing research and performing other associated duties accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare materials for client review meetings.
  • Additional responsibilities as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Business.
  • Progress towards MBA or CFA, or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of portfolio administration experience with an investment management firm, custodian or investment management consultant required.
  • Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) licenses required or must be obtained within 90 days of start date.
  • Commits to satisfying internal and external customers.
  • Detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks.
  • Delivers clear, effective communication and takes responsibility for understanding others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Works cooperatively with others to accomplish objectives.
  • Utilizes independent thought and judgment.
