Wealth and Personal Banking is our new global business combining Retail Banking and Wealth Management; and Global Private Banking, to become one of the world's largest global wealth managers with USD1.4 trillion in assets. We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our Wealth and Personal Banking team, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

Role Purpose

The role is based in Geneva with the main focus to cover Switzerland booking center in addition to some responsibilities across EMEA.

The overall objective of the Structured Products Specialist is to facilitate the delivery and distribution of the Structured products offering, through permanent contacts and interactions with all front office staffs and clients, in line with the regulation in place.

The role is intended to have a strong commercial focus and to provide a broad coordination with RM's ICs and other products specialists to ensure clients objectives and needs are met.

The reporting line of the Structured Products Specialist will be the Global Head of Structured Products

In this role, you will:
  • Responsible for the delivery of the Structured Products offering. Work closely with PBRS Front office staff and other specialists and stakeholders based in PBRS and globally to ensure that the service meets agreed standards
  • Improve Structured Products solution knowledge within the Private Bank through permanent contacts with Front Office and regular trainings and updates on our offering
  • Demonstrate and explain the added value of our Structured Products solutions when being implemented in client portfolio and clearly articulate our competitive advantages
  • Ensure a high level of interaction with the global Structured Products Team based in London
  • Deliver and market HSBC's expertise on OTC Derivatives and Structured Products solutions to PBRS clients
  • Support and manage the Structured products advisory Mandate.
  • Support front office staffs (Relationship managers and Investment counselors) and deliver qualitative pre and post trades assistance to RMs, ICs, current and prospective clients through meetings and conference calls
  • Control and monitor the activities to remain compliant on an ongoing basis whilst keeping in mind all the risk factors related to the Role Purpose
  • Integrate Structured Products solutions into regular sales meetings and presentations within the Private Bank
  • Generate investment ideas aligned to the house view and support local, regional and global campaigns and initiatives
  • Lead, track and monitor product initiatives and on-going pitches
  • Build and maintain a solid overview of our AUM split by products, regions, RM/IC to be able to identify and address penetration gaps
  • Maintain a good knowledge of Structured Products portfolio positioning and product offering
  • Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets

Business Impact
  • The role is key in the delivery of investment solutions to our clients. It covers front office staff, interactions with other product specialists in Switzerland and across booking centres globally, very close collaborations with ICs and RMs.
  • The impact on the business is key to increase AUM as well as investment revenues through brokerage and trading, annuity and structuring revenues.

Customers / Stakeholders support
  • Ensure a consistent approach on the asset class by providing relevant structured products solutions
  • Work closely with the front teams, deliver relevant marketing material and organize bespoke trainings
  • Demonstrate and explain the added value of structured products when being implemented in a diversified portfolio
  • Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets.

Leadership & Teamwork
  • Team players: clients get an investment service delivered by a full team (RM, IC, and Product Specialist).
  • Maintain strong relationships with RMs and ICs and work closely with other products specialist locally and Structured Products Teams globally
  • Work closely with relevant functions: RC, Legal, Business Management, Sales Management among others

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
  • Strong expertise and deep knowledge of the structured products offering
  • Proven expertise in Derivatives and Structured Products with a key focus on structured fixed income
  • Strong client facing skills
  • Solid and broad experience of working with different stakeholders in the Private bank
  • Proactive and " delivery-focused " mind-set
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders
  • Excellent organization skills with Multitasking abilities and attention to details
  • Team player, high achiever, quick to learn, positive attitude, strong commercial skills
  • Pro-active, Ethical, Keen sense of urgency, high level of professional and personal integrity
  • Engineering, Financial or Economics background is preferable
  • Fluent in English and French
  • CFA, MBA, or equivalent would be an asset
