Position Description:

Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) seeks a VP, Senior Software Engineer for its Newport Beach, CA location. Job ID 30534

Duties: Serving as software product owner, support PIMCO’s Unified Benchmark Systems which manages over 5500 active financial benchmarks against which over $1T of PIMCO assets are tracked. Manage product roadmap, delivery, maintenance, and customer support of unified benchmark system. Engineer shadow calculations for PIMCO Branded Indices. Develop reports and provide benchmark risk metrics for Portfolio Managers and Account Managers. Utilize .net core applications, Entity Framework, SQL, Workflow Core (Workflow Engine) and Python deployed on PAS and public cloud to ensure the application design and development project is executed as per PIMCO’s established information system development best practices. Provide technical support and continuous enhancement to PIMCO’s proprietary trading, risk management and portfolio management systems and reporting applications. Responsible for end-to-end stakeholder and integration management. Oversee release management for PIMCO’s security rebalance systems and applications on a weekly basis. Manage a global team of developers to manage development and support of business critical applications.

Position Requirements:

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the position offered or related position within the financial services industry. Required experience must include: utilizing .Net Core, Entity Framework, workflow-core (Workflow Engine), Redis, SQL, Python, Angular, HTML5, CICD pipeline, gitlab, Autosys, and Perl script; designing, developing, and implementing algorithms to support fixed income trading applications; deploying applications on cloud using Amazon Web Services, Pivotal Cloud Foundry to enable Infrastructure as a Service; supporting product management through charting long term roadmaps and defining features to be used by business users; collaborating with external vendor data providers, decrypting vendor data, and publishing valuable insights to be used by internal systems; performing application systems development, including working with end users to define system requirements, analyzing and designing applications that meet user needs, translating logic diagrams into program statements, and deploying and implementing packages; designing, coding, testing, debugging and documenting programs; providing computer programs, system development and technical support for very complex, highly critical programs and systems; planning and coordinating tests, resolving production problems, and identifying opportunities to improve systems and architecture.
