Position Summary:
The Quantitative Analyst will create, maintain, and update investment models; support data warehousing efforts, and maintain ETL data feeds/transfers; interface with portfolio accounting and reporting systems; develop and maintain business intelligence reporting and analytical dashboards; assist in evaluating investment opportunities; lead special quantitative projects upon request; and assist in the preparation of written investment reports and recommendations for senior management. This is an in-office, team oriented position that encourages rapid growth through intensive training, mentoring, and collaboration.
Job Duties:
- Take full ownership of reporting process, data reliability, and accuracy; optimize data feeds, queries, dashboards, and Excel models to ensure fast, stable, and accurate management reporting
- Use quantitative problem-solving skills to find and create efficiencies in models, databases, programs, and processes to improve speed and reliability of results
- Troubleshoot broken data feeds and resolve production issues under time-sensitive deadlines
- Combine finance & investment knowledge to implement advanced queries that extract large quantities of data from multiple sources into robust, real-time dashboards
- Identify and drive opportunities to streamline, scale, and automate workflows
- Convert business requirements into versatile data solutions, such as transitioning legacy processes, adding new data integrations, and developing new analytical packages to enable nextgen portfolio management and analysis
- Work with third party service providers and internal support groups to reconcile trades, cash flows, daily cash balances, and support GAAP & tax accounting entries; build systems to automate processes
- Support research, analysis, and valuation of investment alternatives
- Summarize results and present conclusions to senior management in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing
- Prepare presentations and exhibits for senior management meetings
- Complete high priority ad hoc analyses upon request
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, computer science, engineering, or a related field
- Mastery of Microsoft Excel, including VBA programming experience
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and at least one other programming language
- Strong understanding of investment/financial concepts - IRR, TWR, NPV, etc.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and tax accounting
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to solve problems independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet firm deadlines
- Positive attitude, with the ability to constructively collaborate with colleagues
- Highly dependable with utmost integrity and confidentiality
- Strong writing and communications skills
- Strong desire to learn and grow in all aspects of the investment field
