Investment Services Public Markets (ISPM) is an integrated team that provides investment service support for public market investment activities strategically and tactically. The team is responsible for business management functions for all public market investment strategy groups, as well as GIC's global trade operations, custody control and asset servicing such as income entitlements, mergers and acquisitions and other corporate events of our underlying investments, futures and derivative operations, collateral management, pricing and rates, market data and rebalancing operations. The coverage extends across a spectrum of products such as equities, bonds, money market, foreign exchange, futures, collateralized securities and other derivatives.

Data Solutions & Services :

DSS is the partner of choice for all investment data related activities in GIC; the department comprises domain expertise in business data operations, business data services, asset valuation & analytics, investment book of record and data services & analytics.

The role is expected to lead an expanded team with oversight and accountability for:
  • the design, development and delivery of strategic data solutions build-out to support our public markets investment capabilities
  • research & management of the implementation of data services for all investment strategies & new product lines
  • leveraging a range of internal expertise and through the establishment of strategic partnerships across the firm and in the market
  • embedding and fostering best practices in operating and service models
  • key domains in index & benchmark services and in asset valuation & analytics

Responsibilities

  • Strategic evaluation of business and information needs from a range of public markets investment teams and risk & performance teams
  • Formulating holistic data solutions to manage front office and risk & performance stakeholders' requirements
  • Working with investment teams, risk & performance teams and the technology group to design, develop and deliver sustainable data solutions
  • Working with partner teams to design and develop optimal target operating and service models for consumers
  • Manage a team of solutions experts guiding their interactions with internal and external parties
  • Investment product design & structuring, leveraging the key domains in index & valuation analytics
  • Strong industry engagement by leveraging partnerships to drive best practices
  • Provide thought leadership within the department and participate in thematic studies/projects both within and across departments

Requirements

  • Strong qualifications such as post-graduate degree in Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance.
  • Financial certifications such as CFA / CAIA, data certifications such as CDP, CDMP preferred
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant working experience in the funds management, institutional banking industry
  • Primary domain areas of investment data management, investment analysis, business intelligence & analysis
  • Strong knowledge of financial instruments, markets, indices/benchmarks and valuation models
  • Exposure to market and industry through associations, working groups or committees
