This individual will work within the Global Trading Team with the primary responsibility for trading equity securities (and derivatives) in a support role. This individual will assist the Senior Traders with trade execution and blotter management. In addition, the junior trader will be responsible for communicating themes, trends, and activity relating to the equity markets to traders, analysts, and portfolio managers on a regular basis. This individual must maintain a working knowledge of the equity markets and keep abreast of evolving market trends. Being able to build and maintain relationships both externally and internally is essential.

 

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Execute buy and sell transactions on assigned securities
  • Maximize best execution practices in both high and low touch trading across multiple trading platforms/venues
  • Develop a working knowledge of equity market structure and appreciate its evolution
  • Develop, maintain, and manage relationships with a broad set of broker/dealers
  • Gather and analyze market color, inclusive of other asset classes, and communicate relevant information to traders, analysts, and eventually portfolio managers
  • Work to understand and analyze TCA/fill data to enhance best execution capabilities

 

 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Equity related investment experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships both externally and internally is essential.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team of traders, analysts, and portfolio managers
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to negotiate effectively with broker/dealers
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task with precision
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • MBA, MA or CFA (or in progress)
  • Programming skills
  • Multi-asset experience
