As a Barclays Transaction Lead - Structured Finance, you will join the Strategic Transactions Group (STG) which is a front office team that forms part of Barclays Tax. STG's objective is to utilize its execution and transaction management capabilities in support of appropriate tax and associated capital management for the Barclays group. In this role you will source, negotiate, develop and execute the complex and challenging transactions comprising the STG business.

This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.

What will you be doing?
• Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of structured transactions and strategies to achieve sustainable returns for the firm
• Demonstrating a good knowledge of technical tax, accounting and regulatory matters, applying this knowledge to the transaction execution process
• Interpreting and taking accountability for short term, as well as long term transactions management and maintaining responsible risk management facility
• Understanding the factors that influence the risk positions and communicating these to senior team members
• Utilising cross-firm network and authoritative understanding to create good relationships with other teams
• Drafting materials and making presentations for senior members of STG and Tax to aid decision making
• Liaising with infrastructure functions on pipeline transactions and key initiatives
• Taking on responsibility for mentoring junior members of the desk, sharing the technical knowledge required to progress in the team

What we're looking for:
• Undergraduate degree
• Proven experience working in a transactional, structured finance team, within an investment bank, law firm or similar organization

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Master's or graduate degree and/ or CFA/ ACA/ ACCA or equivalent accreditation or experience
• Tax technical skills (specific to local jurisdiction)
• Accounting proficiency
• Experience managing/ reviewing legal documentation process, with knowledge of UK Tax Law
