The Team: The finance team is responsible for financial planning and analysis related to budgeting, forecasting and partnering with other functions of the business. Responsibilities:
- Key contributor to the month end close, annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes
- Partner with the Information Technology team by routinely leading meetings with various Technology stakeholders (including CTO and direct reports) to gather further insight on initiatives and investments
- Provide in-depth financial analysis for critical operating expense items in conjunction with preparation of monthly/quarterly reporting and variance analysis
- Play a lead role in creating and maintaining key performance indicators and development of financial and operational dashboards by senior management, specifically, SPDJI Product Profitability analysis
- Develop FP&A staff on best practices and process efficiencies and the systems and tools utilized by S&P Global Finance, provide feedback and developmental guidance to direct report
- Produce slides for quarterly reporting and ad hoc basis for internal and external presentations
- Provide financial support for M&A activity and commercial deal-making on an ad hoc basis
Basic Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate at various levels across the company
- Possesses strong critical thinking and problem solving ability
- Strong Excel, Powerpoint, and data manipulation skillset
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and see projects through to successful completion
- Works well both independently and as part of a team
- 3+ years of experience related to financial planning and analysis, public accounting, asset management or economic analysis preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
- Demonstrated interest in financial markets and securities trading
- CPA/CFA/MBA in process (or as a goal)
- Experience with Tableau, Anaplan, and/or Oracle is a plus
