Main Purpose of the Role
 

The Finance analyst role based in Portugal will get responsible to execute the finance-based activities and to support finance governance requirements on funded R&D projects applications and grants, including:
 

  • Support preparation and monitor execution of the business cases
  • Support to the submission of the applications,
  • Financial management and reporting of funded projects,
  • Ensure thorough accounting, analysis, mapping, control and archiving of expenses for claiming.

As part of the Finance Business Partnering team, he/she plays a crucial role in monitoring and reporting the performance of the business, namely:
 

  • Supporting management in the development of departmental budgets and forecasts,
  • Ensuring department financials are sufficiently detailed and insightful to allow effective management,
  • Providing insight and support in the presentation and interpretation of monthly results at a departmental level.

Key Responsibilities:
 

 


 

  • Execute every finance-based activities and support finance governance requirements for R&D funded project applications and grants,
  • Ensure departments comply with finance requirements and business governance of Truphone,
  • Work with departments to understand financial performance, implement appropriate scrutiny of material variances including remediation where necessary,
  • Work with others across the business and in Finance to ensure departmental financial commitments are fully delivered, from budget planning process to reporting.

 


 

 

Skills and Experience Required:
 

 


 

 

  • University degree with excellent academic record in a leading university
  • Relevant experience or qualification in Accounting
  • Previous experience with R&D funding or tax incentives is a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with Nestuite or other major Finance ERP software
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Resilient, autonomous, and inquisitive
  • Fluent in English
