APRA is seeking an experienced leader to head up our Investment Risk team within the Superannuation division.
The Investment Risk team provides specialist expertise and horizontal insights in partnership with APRA's supervision teams, Data Analytics and Insights team and Policy and Advice Division to identify, assess and recommend mitigation of risk in regulated entities, to support prudential supervision and to assist with policy development.
This is an exciting opportunity in a diverse role where you will gain a unique perspective across the superannuation industry, leading a team responsible for delivering specialist expertise and risk insights to internal and external stakeholders. You will also lead the assessment of key investment industry practices and set the direction of the team. You will balance competing demands and, as a member of the Superannuation division leadership team, you will be integral to shaping the divisional strategy.
This is a highly collaborative role, where you will engage with a wide range of teams and senior stakeholders across APRA, along with industry stakeholders and other agencies in Australia and abroad.
Careers at APRA are varied, rewarding and are grounded in a desire to support the community by delivering against APRA's mandate. We're also committed to supporting flexible working arrangements and creating an inclusive environment.
About you:
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in investment related functions such as asset allocation, product development or investment operations with broad exposure across the sector and value chain. Experience and insight into the public policy process would also be highly beneficial.
APRA's leaders play an integral role in shaping our culture, supporting our people and preparing APRA for the future. The successful candidate will therefore have demonstrated people leadership and development experience as well as stakeholder management experience.
The ability to work with stakeholders at all levels is crucial to success in the role. Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills are essential, along with excellent organisational, self and priority management skills. A relevant tertiary qualification is essential. Advanced investment qualifications (eg CFA, CAIA) would be advantageous.
