Overview:
The Director of Business Development & Sales is charged with Wealhouse's business expansion and attracting new high-net-worth clients, servicing existing clients and external relationships.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and design business plan to expand new client base and solidify existing client loyalty through net sales management
- Execute proven strategies to grow AUM from new clients including high net worth, investment dealers and advisors, and institutional sales channels
- Prioritize and effectively generate and manage new leads, driving the Wealhouse sales process, and proactively soliciting business from accredited investors
- Own and deliver on ambitious sales targets
- Service existing clients and investment advisors with regular updates on fund performances and portfolio positioning
- Assess client demands for new product developments to help broaden Wealhouse’s offerings
- Develop marketing materials highlighting Wealhouse’s value proposition and investment process to prospective clients and consultants
- Coordinate meetings between prospects and investment team and working collectively to develop customized presentation material that matches needs of client
- Represent Wealhouse at industry events, conferences and in the financial community
- Support the posting and updates of website and coordinate marketing campaigns
- Ensure compliance with Wealhouse’s regulatory policies and procedures
Skills Required:
- Client-first mentality and passion for investment business
- Entrepreneurial-minded self-starter and results-oriented
- Has verifiable track record of business development and generating significant gross sales
- Has established network of contacts within broker/dealer and investment advisor network, or asset allocators with proven track record of raising assets
- Has earned a CFA Charter and has gained at least 12 months of relevant securities industry experience in the recent 36-month period, or has passed the Canadian Securities Course or the Exempt Market Products Exam
- Strong ability to explain financial concepts, strategy, and investment process as well as economic events shaping portfolio strategies
- Well-organized individual with excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills and attention to details
- Professional relationships both on and off Bay Street
- Third party affiliations are an asset e.g. Foundations, industry boards
- Ability to travel as necessary
