About this role

The team is seeking a Researcher / Portfolio Manager who will contribute to the management of retirement strategies across multiple markets, countries and/or asset classes. The person will handle all aspects of asset allocation along with supporting the development of custom solutions.

We partner with clients to solve their investment and liability challenges by understanding their objectives, advising on solutions, and crafting and implementing strategies that meet or exceed goals. The team's guiding principles are to:
  • Provide unbiased advice on portfolio issues and multi-asset solutions
  • Deliver BlackRock's global capabilities by using the firm's insights in a holistic and consistent manner.
  • Employ a flexible framework using a dynamic approach to investment solutions that adapts to client needs.
  • Take ownership of implementation and performance, by focusing on high-quality execution and delivering investment results.
  • Actively research and select return-generating strategies from both internal and external providers.


Responsibilities
  • Work with diverse teams to design and construct portfolios tailored to suit investor requirements and preferences
  • Employ quantitative methods to optimize design of existing products
  • Independently conduct research to drive investment solutions and portfolios
  • Engage in in-depth technical (coding) work on the portfolio management, research and production codebase that underpins the systematic portfolio construction and management processes
  • Develop and extend risk models for existing and new products using internal BlackRock platform
  • Establish relationships with other teams supporting the investment data and research process


Requirements
  • BA/BS in a quantitative field. Graduate degree and/or progress towards CFA desirable.
  • 1+ years of experience in a data driven, quantitatively oriented field. Asset management experience is a plus. Familiarity with Aladdin infrastructure is desirable.
  • Solid understanding of quantitative methods, portfolio construction, and asset allocation theory.
  • Proven experience in statistical programming (MATLAB/R/Python). Experience working with SQL, revision control, and basic Linux is desirable.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments while producing a high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. Curious and self-motivated.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.9
